Writers’ Workshop

Do you enjoy writing fiction, nonfiction, short stories, poetry or essays?  Would you like some help becoming a better writer?  If so, come join other like-minded adults at Fort Dodge Public Library’s Writers’ Workshop.

The Writer's Workshop now meets twice a month. For shorter works, short stories, poetry and essays, they will meet on the fourth Wednesday of the month from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. and the third Saturday of the month from 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Novelists will also meet the third Saturday of the month from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

All meetings are held in the lobby conference room of the Fort Dodge Public Library and are free and open to all interested adults (18+).  We heartily welcome new writers.

If you are interested in attending one of the sections of our Writers’ Workshop or if you have any questions, please contact Meredith Smith-Lane at our workshop email address, fdpl.writers@gmail.com or leave a message for Meredith at the Fort Dodge Public Library Reference Desk (515-573-8167 ext. 224).  The Writers’ Workshop is funded by a grant from the Catherine Vincent Deardorf Charitable Trust.
