For Children

Programs and services especially for children.

Our helpful Children's desk staff can help find a book on the shelf, show you how to look up an item on the card catalog, answer your library questions and much more!

We have many activities throughout the year for children:

Seasonal Preschool Storytimes

Open Houses

(Kids come do crafts, enter for prizes and play a game)

Decorating Contests

Guessing Jar Contests

Winter Reading Program

Summer Reading Program

Many events during the Summer

Our Books

We have rows and rows of great books for all different reading levels, from picture books to chapter books you will never run out of things to read!

There are lots of puppets here at the library and we even have a special place you can play with them, it's called the Vincent House Puppet Theatre.

We have two PCs and four AWE Stations just for kids! Children can enjoy playing educational games on these special touch screen computers made just for them.

Come visit us and our parakeet Skittles in the Children's Department at the Fort Dodge Public Library, we can't wait to see you!
