Completed in 2001 the Fort Dodge Public Library encompasses 32,000 square feet. The building, located at 424 Central Avenue, houses The Fort Dodge Public Library, The Karl L. King Band, The Webster County Historical Society, The Webster County Genealogical Society and the Friends Bookshop on the Square.


The Fort Dodge Public Library contains one large meeting room, one conference room, and four study rooms.

The Library has a 16 computers available featuring Windows Office software, free Internet access, and free wireless Internet access.

The Children's Department has five computers with educational software.

Library Tours

Tours of the Fort Dodge Public Library may be scheduled during the library's hours of operation. Tours are tailored to fit the needs of your group. To schedule a tour for adults contact Rita at ext 224.  For children's tours contact Laurie at ext 242.
